This is the second in a series of posts of images that I made in Paris, France during May 2023. I walked daily primarily in the Marais district, the former royal district of Paris that is home to many buildings of historic and architectural importance as well as a fashion quarter, the Jewish quarter, the gay district, and a lot of neighborhood diversity. I sometimes amassed more than 20,000 steps a day but usually around 10,000 to 12,000. By the way I lost ten pounds but of course that had nothing to do with my cooking.
I made a list of things that I found interesting or different from other cities I’ve visited. I found myself, time and time again, making images of these topics. First and foremost, people. I love photographing people. The people of Paris seem to be consumed with seriousness, as opposed say those in my home town, New Orleans. New Orleanians will throw a Krewe at you for wearing a frown around town Any city with a Mardi Gras parade for small dogs, M.ystic Krewe of Barkus, or a Lundi Gras parade for a legume, Krewe of Red Beans can’t be can’t be taking itself too seriously!
Thank you for viewing my photographs, and if you enjoy them, please like, comment and tell your friends. Alex
